After heavy competition from Cable and Wireless, Jersey Telecom have made huge investment of over £1Million into a completely new telephone network. They say Islands will be one of the first in the world to ever use this technology and that too at rates cheaper than present.
JT don't want to reveal any design plans to keep the excitement of the launch however the CEO Frank Peters made a speech to the press:
" Jersey Telecoms is proud to provide its customers with quality and vauable services and will continue to do so, disregarding any obstacles we may face. We will plant a new range of phone boxes which will be named 'Gizmo Points'. For marketting purpose we are reluctanct to provide designs of the product, however the features customers will be able to enjoy are as follows:
Digital Voice Calling 3G Video Calling SMS and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) Free Internet Access Touch Screen Systems Many more 'never before seen' features are not mentioned, JT hopes that customers can see for themselves on 20th December 2006.
